I decided that achyroanthropology needs to be a word.

What have you guys been up to?

Been working on learning Ring of Fire on the ukulele and preparing for Gulf Wars. (I've also been checking out the Support Board in hopes of finding things to answer!)

I have no idea if this is the right place to ask (or if there even is one), but are you guys looking for translation volunteers, too? I've been looking around for language settings, but haven't found any, so I'm wondering if there are any plans to translate the site into other languages at some point and, if so, whether or not you'll need volunteers.

There are no plans to translate Dreamwidth into any languages other than English. There are a bunch of reasons for this, but the main ones are that translating is incredibly volunteer-intensive, burns folks out really quickly, and is nearly impossible to actually keep up with.

If you want to volunteer (and I strongly encourage you to do that!), I can find something for you to do. In particular, we need folks who can write FAQs and that sort of thing. Let me know if you're interested in doing that, and I'll help get you set up. :)

That is sad, but understandable.

I would love to! I'm not sure how useful I'd be at anything not related to languages, but as long as it's not too tech-y, I should be fine. Hopefully.

Writing FAQs is mostly an exercise in explaining how to do things. The easiest way to help out is to check out the User Documentation section in Bugzilla, see if anything catches your eye, and then write the FAQ!

[site community profile] dw_docs has lots of useful information on how to do this, and the Manual of Style is also really helpful.

I am usually on IRC (freenode, #dreamwidth) if that's your thing. I'm MissKat there too. Feel free to hop on and bug me if you have questions!
